On April 12 1986, the original ATA space, on 7th Street in San Francisco’s South of Market area, was dressed up as your typical living room. Four members of The Haters took turns damaging phonograph records and then playing them on your typical home stereo set. After having been played for a bit, each record would then be hurled into the audience. After awhile, people started throwing the records back at the performers. The flying vinyl lasted 25 minutes.
